To commemorate “The Moment The Game Changed,” Mitchell & Ness re-released Michael Jordan’s rookie jersey. The jersey itself is tailored to the exact specifications of the one that Jordan wore in 1984-85. These jerseys will release exactly 25-years after MJ graced the NBA hardwood (October 26, 1984). The Mitchell & Ness store in Philly, NBA Store in NYC, The Chicago Bulls team store, and NBAstore.com will be the only places to buy the jerseys, which retail for $375.

Mitchell & Ness delivered one of these jerseys to me last week. Upon removing the dust cover and opening the meticulously designed Mitchell & Ness box, I found one of the greatest gifts/perks that I have ever received. Mitchell & Ness produced 1,264 jerseys to reflect the number of games Jordan played as a pro. This number includes the regular season, All-Star, and playoffs. Each jersey is stitched with a number from 1-1264, to represent a specific game. An elegant plaque fastened inside the commemorative box is etched with the specific details of the date and game. For example, I received game number 879 of 1264. My plaque reads, “Your jersey represents game #879 in the career of Michael Jordan. Game #879 was held March 18, 1996 as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 98-94. Michael Jordan’s stat line that day included 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.” I was hoping to get the game where MJ dropped 55 on the Knicks right after his first comeback… so I could burn it! Oh well

2009 has seen a plethora of Air Jordan retro releases, but perhaps no single Jordan has been in more production/demand than the Air Jordan 1. Pictured here is a high-top Air Jordan 1 Retro Phat Premier with a very stylish execution. The shoe’s upper consists of a black leather base and sits atop a completely white midsole. Varsity red accents exist on the top of the tongue, shoe laces, patented Nike swoosh, and the entire outsole. For added flavor, varsity maize/yellow stitching runs through the entire shoe as well- starting at the tongue and moving then to the heel and through both the mid-panel and toe box. To go along with the Air Jordan VI x Nike Air Yeezys being auctioned on eBay right now, another pair of Yeezy’s has been listed to raise money for the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. We all remember when Kanye himself wore the first pair of Nike Air Yeezys at the 50th Grammys 2008. Well, to our luck, or to those who can afford it, the same shoes that Kanye wore himself will be auctioned off. That’s right, the shoes off his feet are being auctioned right now. The black Nike Air Yeezy comes complete with pink lacelocks and a one of one custom lasered wooden box designed by Jordan Brand head Mark Smith. So, if you’re a philanthropist who also happens to be a sneakerhead, go hit up the eBay auction now.

There have been so many Jordan releases lately that it’s almost overwhelming, but now JB is showing some love for the ladies with these Air Jordan 1 PHAT WMNS.

Obviously, the first thing that jumps at you is the bright pink patent leather on the swoosh, toe and back section. Nike and Jordan are referring to the color as “China Rose,” though, just in case any fellas want to size up for these and justify the hue. The pink sections aren’t the only color jumping off on these though, as the liner features a spotted black and lime green print for contrast. No doubt about it, these are meant to draw some attention.

While the AJ1 has become JB’s release-aplenty as of late, it’s nice to see a women’s color-up for the sneakerheadettes out there.

Nike Air Flightposite II LE – January 2010

Kevin Garnett and his signature Air Flightposite II sneakers helped bring Nike into the new millennium with a bang. Now, almost ten years later, the model is ready to see a long overdue retrofitting. Previewed in June, we now have some more detailed images of the Black/Black colorway from the model’s two-part 2010 release. Although the shoe no longer bares the Garnett name, the model appears to be otherwise unchanged, the hidden laces and sleek silhouette still creating that undeniably futuristic look. Scheduled to hit retailers on January 16th, the release will certainly be a good start to the new year.

Finally, detailed images of the long awaited release of Air Jordan XII (12) White/Varsity Red/Black have surfaced and become available for presale. The retro appears to stay true to the original 1997 release, unlike the alterations seen on the Flu Game Air Jordan XII. However, the overall shape of this retro seems to be a tad bit different from the original. None the less, Jordan Brand fans will rejoyce at the sight of these. Winter/Holiday 2009 is shaping up to be one of the better years in terms of releases for the Jordan Brand.

Earlier this year, we showed you two colorways of the Roc Star x Ato Matsumoto Hi-Strap in which many of you really liked. If you recall, this shoe may have sneaked pass some people’s radar seeing that it released in the midst of the Nike Air Yeezy hoopla. We now have spotted another colorway of the Roc Star x Ato Matsumoto Hi-Strap.

Unlike the previous two colorways of the Roc Star x Ato Matsumoto Hi-Strap, this particular color scheme is more bland and ideal for the fall/winter season. It features a predominately military green cowhide base mixed with a white sole. The side panels, collar area and heel panel feature a unique print design, while the toe box seems to features a solid black color. This Roc Star x Ato Matsumoto Hi-Strap is available in Japan now.

Air Jordan VII – Bordeaux Sample

Images of a sample pair of one of the most popular OG colorways of the Air Jordan VII, the ‘Bordeaux’, surfaced on the web this week. Needless to say, they’ve got a lot of people excited. Since making its debut in 1991, Jordan Brand has yet to re-release the model, despite rumors of its inclusion in the 7/16 Countdown Pack. Keep in mind that these are only samples, but they’re certainly a welcomed step towards the possibility of a new release.
